I went out and studied a thunderstorm off to the north yesterday evening. The changes in this painting reflect some of what I observed. Cattle, another cowboy and a windmill have been added Not happy with the colors and scaling of the sage.
I just have this one blocked out, much detail to come. Most likely will put more cattle and another cowboy in it. Driving cattle can have its problems, one would be this scenario, a sudden storm.
This painting literally came out of nowhere, starting with a window, then adobe walls, then plaster, and lastly, a lost kitty. 11 x 14 . Watercolor on Paper
Painted from a photo of cottonwoods in the 'mother ditch' irrigation canal in Taos, this painting emphasises the lighting at sunrise. 16 x 20, Acrylic on Canvas.
